This is the United States Army military truck Big Foot. It’s a modern army truck, and it seems a big volume kit.
A chassis part. There is no particularly difficult work. I think there is no distortion.
Total of 7 tires, including one spare.
It became gradually complex. It became troublesome and I left this kit for a while.
I attached these tires for trial. Hmmm, this tire isn’t so cool. I feel it’s something different.

I have some stocks of truck models, some HEMTT tires have very good detail, I cast them and re-used. However, this tire is HEMTT M977, M978, M983, M984, M985 and M1120, tire size 16xR20, 16 is oblateness of the tires, thickness and height ratio. R20 is the diameter of the rim. It’s complicated and I can’t understand, anyway the HEMMT tire is bigger than M923’s.
The tire size of the M923A1 is 14xR20. Though the rim is the same size, the tire is smaller. Because the oblateness (height/width) is a bigger number 16, maybe the HEMTT tire diameter is bigger than M923. The resin cast is troublesome and many mistakes and the smell is strong. I felt that experience was necessary to take a sharp casting.
The loading platform and the hood are also built.
By the way, the M923 tire size is 14xR20, but M939A1 and M939A2 are 14xR20, but just M939 truck tire side is 11.00xR20. Briefly, the diameter of the HEMMT tire is approximately 130cm, M923A1 is 116cm. Oh, 14cm is big at a diameter. It is 4mm when I convert it into 1/35. I cannot change it anymore. I focused on tire mold and don’t mind the tire size difference.
When there is nothing in a carrier, I’m lonely, I feel short of fun, so I used the fuel & steel drum set of Hero Hobby Kits. There are 3 types of drums.
I have already assembled them, like this photo, we need to build from some parts to one steel drum. It is not strange as the modern AFV accessories even if I use three kinds of any.

Some dents mold on the drum surface.
I painted the driver’s seat inside. I painted the hood, too. But must repaint it when I use airbrush later after all. I wanted to see the atmosphere of the hood set.
There is not the decal of the meter panel. I will hardly see it after completion. Anyway, I painted the detailed meters with a brush.
I assembled the carrier of the truck. When a hood is covered, almost no inside is seen. There are many injection marks inside, it would be better to fill with putty.
Because I changed tires for a bigger size, the fender of the rear wheels does not fit in well. It was a slight angle set up. I gave priority to the atmosphere of the tire.

Assembling of a truck is completed.
Now I’m making the Meal Ready to Eat Carton. I already got tired with the fourth box. I’ll make ten boxes with effort somehow!
There is nothing in the carrier, it’s boring, I put steel drums, MRE Cartons, and Alice Pack.
The drums of the box picture of hero hobby Kits are painted in blue and red. I think these blue drums look pretty.

Now I’m painting the 7 big tires in the tire black. I painted the lower body in black.
The base color is Mr. Color 302, Green FS34092.
I finished the camouflage paint with matte black and flat earth.
I intend to do weathering after gluing various baggage, drums, and boxes together. Because it is used in the desert, maybe I’ll finish it with dusty weathering.

This time I tried to build the US military truck M923. The chassis is called M939, a cargo truck type is M923.
This truck was used in the Gulf War and the Iraqi War, I suppose it is still active.
I didn’t like this kit included tires of Italeri, so cast and installed the other kit’s nice molded tire. The size is rather bigger than an actual one, and the space between the tires and space between the fender and the tire had become tight. When it is a true truck, it is dangerous and may not run. But well, it’s a kind of modeling fiction, it’s better volume and looking.
The front face is considerably cool. The small mesh and lights are good.
Changing the subject, now I’m preparing to move our room to the next ward. While I packed many kits in a cardboard box, when I put them in this and take out from the cardboard, I can have a fresh feeling like the one ordered just now and take out. I’ll put all the kits in the box in the new room. Taking out when you want to make will be the motivation up. This is serious.
I have to carry many tools and paints, the compressor, paint booth, and drying booth, tower PC, books and games. Moving is hard.
Since recently I have built airplane models, I think it’s like a reckless action not to be afraid of God that blowing dust on clear parts. The AFV models are weathering emphasis, so I did leave the mark of the wipers. It looks lively vehicle.
Anyway, I wanted to pile up some baggage. Though the boxes of the military ration were made only ten boxes. When thinking, it’s also interesting to stick this package sheet on the outside of something like a soapbox.
The carton of the combat ration, the notation detail of the package is reproduced finely, and an atmosphere improves.
I did some tipping. The modern truck will have good maintenance, all looks good even if there is no rust. The Middle East is a dry climate so I did rather much dust weathering.
I like the clear orange warning lights, silver shining headlights from the front, in the rear red and orange lights.
Though the box art was the camouflage of green, light green, and dark earth, the paint guide commentary of the Gulf War vehicle was green and dark earth and black camouflage. I saw the real car and I can see many black used camouflage.
A truck will move by a convoy, but it’s armed with a machine gun for self-defense.
The molding of the spare tire became thick.
It is powerful when I take it from the bottom!
I painted the mirror with metallic, and the feeling shined some extent.
I cannot see inside so much through the dusty windows.
The door on the driver’s seat side has the only glass of half size. Though a gap is considerably large, doesn’t a driver feel hot? I think Iraq is in a heatwave.
Though there was a part of the wood in the carrier, I painted it with dark green because I thought that it was painted in the body color.
Since the parting line and burr are quite often, it takes a little time and effort to complete but the part is small. I think that I pile up baggage and change a tire, became the bold camion.

I am interested in models of tanks, airplanes, ships, military figures, I build it little by little when I feel like it. I am also interested in the history of war. My starting is Tamiya’s Military Miniature series in the elementary school.
From elementary school through university students repeatedly suspend and restart my modeling, it’s about 25 years of this hobby’s history.
Born in February 1970, I live in Tokyo. From February 2007 I was quietly doing a site called “Miniature-Arcadia”. It is being transferred to this blog with the same name from December 2016. My update pace is uneven, but please come to see here occasionally.
