Tiger-I Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausf.E Early Type Italeri 1/35
I’m going to build this Italeri Tiger I. The mold isn’t so sharp and precise, assemble easily and soon get into the painting process.
The parts runners are in a box just as it is. It’s an ITALERI way that plastic bags aren’t used.
Not completely build the box of the chassis, there is a part to assemble while checking the fit of some parts. It was not too difficult.
Turret inside of parts is an expression that stands out half like a relief.
While I make wheels, I assemble the gun barrels and other turret parts a little. I needed to be careful not to be the wrong combination of the road wheels, there are many types of wheels.
I finished the installation of the characteristic rolling wheels. I also mounted a one-by-one track. It is easier to build the Dragon Magic Tracks.
Unexpectedly, the partial connection caterpillar adjustment is difficult. I changed a delicate curve with my finger. Winding it at once before the adhesive dries.
I’m waiting for drying road wheels and caterpillar tracks with books as a weight.
I think that the hard part was over when completed the caterpillar.
The positions of the periscopes are different as I see it well. Mistaken. After correcting them, maybe I have no choice but the hatches are closed.
To adjust the slack of the caterpillar, I used the rounded tissue between the caterpillar and the body.
Small parts are separated by other kits, many Italeri parts are all one mold.
I felt the tank is a little high.
Since the accuracy is not good enough, it’s better to assemble first and fill the gaps later.
I built the main gun turret and all completed it.
The United States is confused. A police officer kills a nonresistant black person, a retaliatory strike is received conversely, the order is corrupted. At least I think that for the general sales may be limited to a handgun class. I read something about gun control, the United States of gun ownership seems similar to the fishing rod sense of Japan because it is rooted in a hunting culture. If a fishing rod is prohibited, maybe I’ll be furious.
I don’t use any etched parts this time.
Yes, it seems massive and strong.
Both hatches are open.
Because I express painting detachment, I used hair spray. The base color is black.
Painted German gray Tamiya acrylic. After that, I blew different tones on a large area.
Peel the acrylic paint to give the chipping effect. I attached to water and scratched randomly on the soft paint surface with a fine tool.
I thought whether it was completed, but somewhat feel awkward. A gun barrel bends a little in the bottom when I see it well. The Tiger-I looks weak.
I’ll fix it with the pouring glue and putty. At this angle, it looks worse. It was bad that I didn’t pay attention well.
In the past twice, I put a Tiger in this HP. It’s my first time building the Tiger I colored in German gray.
The partial connection caterpillar is more difficult to assemble than each track caterpillar.
After I attached spare tracks on both sides of a gun turret, I had no place to put decals. So I put the small decals of my spare.
If the style of the vehicle number font is round, it’s not a strong image. The Tiger is square-built so I feel a square-built font matches.
I love the shots to apply a gun turret to aside and have taken it in various ways.
The weathering is done in various ways to wipe out a monochrome flat feeling.
Effect of chipping, peeling off the paint at the beginning is eliminated after too much washing. But weathering until I was satisfied.
I think the bars between the metal wire are cleaning rods, maybe this is made of wood, the wrong color.
This time, the primer is lacquer, German gray is a water-based paint, washing is mainly enamel paint.
I thought I made too shining metal parts, It becomes good accents of the single-color painting.
Since the included decal sheet was a little yellowed, I changed it to Cartograf Decals. This decal is highly reliable.
I think a curved line from the top to the center is working well.
Because it does not use metal parts, hard to put a dent on the fenders and muffler covers.
The wide tracks are one of the reasons for the cool-looking Tiger Heavy Tank.
The attachment of the spare caterpillar, I wonder it’s OK for the early-stage type as this photo. There is no space to put a big decal.
If we are worried about the shape of the clamp and other things, we should replace them. This time I don’t care in detail.
Recently, Dragon Models tank kits are inferior in quality that the only price is up. Dragon’s Tiger is a better joint in almost all parts than this kit. The Dragon is recognized as the king of the true model maker if he keeps the quality of those days.
On the other hand, the Italeri kit price is reasonable, the number of parts is not much. The fit of parts is normal.
The gun barrel is not made of metal, but I think that quality is enough. I was able to make it happily.
I own one more Italeri Tiger I, I wonder I build one more at a burst…
I am interested in models of tanks, airplanes, ships, military figures, I build it little by little when I feel like it. I am also interested in the history of war. My starting is Tamiya’s Military Miniature series in the elementary school.
From elementary school through university students repeatedly suspend and restart my modeling, it’s about 25 years of this hobby’s history.
Born in February 1970, I live in Tokyo. From February 2007 I was quietly doing a site called “Miniature-Arcadia”. It is being transferred to this blog with the same name from December 2016. My update pace is uneven, but please come to see here occasionally.
